Disco Soup, 26th March, 2016

Disco Soup aims to raise awareness and fight against food waste by diverting food that was headed to the bin towards our bellies instead, all while grooving to some local tunes. Over the previous three events, we’ve avoided hundreds of kilos of food waste while building more sustainable communities here in Edinburgh.

It’s back, and this time at the Forge in Fountainbridge! Join us and Foodsharing Edinburgh for the city’s 4th Disco Soup. We’ll start the food prep at 12 noon, with a day of chopping, eating, and dancing to follow!

The Forge is located in a post-industrial field in between the streets Viewforth and Gilmore park next to the Union Canal.

There will also be workshops:

Bikes for Refugees (supporting new members of our community with bikes). Bring any old or uneeded bikes of safety equipment to donate!

The Pianodrome ("a bespoke apocalypse-chic 100 seater amphitheatre made entirely out of 30 freegan upright pianos") is in construction at the Forge. On saturday the prototype will be there for playing, as well as a whole container of upcycled pianos - learn about this exciting, experimental community project.

Portnawak & The Woo will be providing the tunes from 4pm.
